QIC seeks to increase capital

DOHA: Qatar Insurance Company( QIC) has sought the approval of the Ministry of Business & Trade to increase its capital after distribution of bonus shares. The QIC plans to offer over 21m shares for subscriptions to current shareholders registered at QE for a price of QR.45 including the share’s par value plus QR.35 as premium, a Qatar Exchange filing noted. the peninsula

Gulf markets  close mixed 

 
DUBAI: Shares in Dubai’s Emaar Properties rallied 4.6 percent to a fresh 51-month high as retail demand surged. Emaar closed at 5.26 dirhams. Dubai’s index rose 1.2 percent to its highest close since Nov. 2009.  Neighbouring Abu Dhabi benchmark also climbed, up 0.2 percent to a fresh 39-month high. Qatar’s measure fell 0.5 percent to its lowest close in February. Doha Bank tumbled 9.1pc after it passed ex-dividend date. Reuters
