Britain's Brash claims another double as H H The Father Amir’s Prix Tour 3 ends

Doha, Qatar: Britain’s Scott Brash maintained his outstanding run at Al Shaqab, claiming his second successive double with wins in the CSI5* and CSI3* Grand Prix events on the final day of H H The Father Amir’s Prix Tour 3 yesterday.

Partnering with the 11-year-old mare Hello Mango, the World No. 2 rider clinched his second consecutive CSI5* 1.60m Grand Prix Jump-Off, clocking 44.47 seconds in the decisive round.Scott Brash and Hello Mango in action.

He defeated Austria’s Gerfried Puck, who aboard Equitron Naxcel V posted 44.92 seconds to secure second place, while Saudi Arabia’s Abdulrahman Alrajhi, riding Ventago, clocked 45.04 seconds to finish third.

Vice-Chairperson of Qatar Foundation H E Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani honoured the podium winners of the event.

“I am absolutely delighted. Hello Mango is still young, but she is amazing,” Brash said after his CSI5* 1.60m triumph.

“She was sharp and certainly delivered. She is a phenomenal athlete and jumped incredibly.”

Earlier, Brash partnered with Hello Folie to claim another CSI3* 1.50m Grand Prix Jump-Off victory. The British rider completed the jump-off in 40.81 seconds, beating Belgium’s Abdel Said, who finished in 41.23 seconds aboard Wathnan Zasou Vom Claashof. USA’s Kristen Vanderveen, riding Bull Run’s Jireh, claimed third place with a time of 41.54 seconds.

Saudi Arabia’s Abdullah Alsharbatly notched a CSI5* 1.50m Special Two-Phase victory on Boeckmanns Lord Pezi Junior, clearing the second phase in 30.53 seconds. Italy’s Emanuele Gaudiano (Julius.D) finished second in 30.86 seconds, while Austria’s Gerfried Puck (Idiaal Special H.J.) secured third place after clocking 32.21 seconds.

In another event at the Outdoor Arena, Qatar’s Faris Saad Al Qahtani, astride Com du Rouet Z, won the CSI3* 1.40m Accumulator title with a time of 48.18 seconds. Saudi rider Khalid Al Hadi on Capoen was second in 49.16 seconds, while another Qatari rider, Mohammed Khalifa Al Baker, riding Emiro Delle Sementarecce, finished third after clocking 49.86 seconds.

Tittle clinches CSI1* Grand Prix title

At the Longines Indoor Arena, USA’s Suzette Tittle on Jasmijn posted 31.84 seconds in the decisive round to top the CSI1* 1.30m Grand Prix Jump-Off event. Egypt’s Fatima Mohanad, riding Alkishawi Quintalou, finished second with a time of 31.99 seconds, while Qatar’s Saad Ahmed Al Saad (Fashion des Douits) secured third place after clocking 32.68 seconds.USA’s Suzette Tittle and Jasmijn in action during the CSI1* 1.30m Grand Prix Jump-Off.

At the same venue, Khalid Jassim Al Suwaidi (E.T.’s Queeny Z) emerged winner in the CSIJ-B 1.20m Jump-Off Group VII series qualifier. It was an all-Qatari podium as Tamim Joaan Al Thani (Othello) and Suhaim Hamad Al Yafei (Gamin Raye) finished second and third respectively.

In the CSI1* 1.20m Accumulator, Al Hadi was victorious on Carlton de Sauvageonn, followed by Qatar’s Abdulla Ahmed Al Khulaifi (Quenta van de Corsendonksehoeve) and Saudi Arabia’s Fonoon Alhumaidan (Underline des Marais) in second and third positions respectively.

Two competitions were held at the 2nd Outdoor Arena, with Qatar’s Sultan Salem Al Naemi (Cavallina 13) reigning supreme in the CSI3* 1.30m Table C, followed by the Saudi duo of Mohammed Alasaker on Stago CC Z and Mohammed Alasaker on Tinto de Nuit Z.Qatar's Faris Saad Al Qahtani and Com du Rouet Z won the CSI3* 1.40m Accumulator title. 

Maryam Mohammed Al Sada (Mediena), Alqaqaa Tamim Al Thani (Bon Suela) and Dana Omar Al Emadi (Famous) claimed the first three positions respectively in the National Competition 1.00m Special Two-Phase.

The fourth and final Tour of H H The Father Amir’s Prix will be held from January 29 to 31.
