•     There were talks on social media about the Emiri gift of 750 shares of the Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding Company to each disadvantaged Qatari. People said 13,200 beneficiaries of social security and 2,000 people with special needs will receive free shares. 
•     Some people suggested that Al Mazrouah Yard should be open for more than three days a week so that there are no crowds or rush.
•     Some people claimed car agencies were charging exorbitantly for after-sale services and asking customers to have regular check-ups in their maintenance centres, which are always crowded and customers are forced to wait for a long time for their turn.
•     Residents of Jubayliyat area have demanded that authorities reconsider the decision of building a school in an open area adjacent to the Mohammed bin Abdul Wahab grand mosque. They said the site should be allocated for a public park which people had demanded earlier.
•     There were talks about the initial public offering by Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding Company that will start on December 31 and continue until January 21, 2014.  The IPO is limited to Qataris. 
•     There was discussion on social media about Qatari citizen Ali Al Marri who has been accused of trying to run over a Kuwaiti in Kuwait. A Kuwaiti court will hear the case on January 5, 2014. 
•     Social media was abuzz with discussions about Qatar Museum Authority’s announcement that 2014 will be Qatar-Brazil Year of Culture.
