The Meteorology Department has forecast further rains today and tomorrow as the country is experiencing unstable weather conditions.

Some parts of the country, especially the north, received scattered rains yesterday while a cloudy weather blanketed the city the whole day.

The Met office said yesterday that the unstable weather forebodes more showers over the weekend, extending to most areas of the country.

Most parts could receive moderate to heavy rains today and tomorrow, becoming thundery at times, accompanied with hail and strong winds, the Department said in a statement. Scattered rains could continue until Tuesday, expected to be light to moderate. Weather would become gradually stable on Wednesday. The Department has urged the public to be cautious and avoid sea activities during this period.
