The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announced that it will implement two traffic diversions today, November 25, 2016, to enable the works of laying Treated Sewage Effluent rising mains as part of design, build, operate and maintain of Al Thakhira Sewage Treatment Works and Transfer Pumping Station and Associated Pipelines.
Diversion 1:
The entrance and exit of Woqod Petrol Station from Al Thakhira Main Road (Near Al Meera) will be closed, and traffic will be diverted to new entrance and exit parallel to the closed. The diversion will last for a period of 77 days.
Diversion 2:
The entrance of the service road to Umm Birka road will be closed and traffic will be diverted to Umm Birka Interchange. The diversion will start last for a period of 60 days, Ashghal announced.
The Public Works Authority has requested to all the road users to abide by the speed limit and follow diversion road signs to ensure their safety.
With the camping season now underway, Ashghal also reminded road users to exercise special care while driving to their campsite, by further reducing speed as necessary.
