Arab Justice Ministers Council praises draft laws by Qatar

The Arab Justice Ministers Council praised yesterday the draft laws presented by Qatar as aiming to enhance cooperation in the legislative field between Arab countries.
Minister of Justice H E Dr Hassan bin Lahdan chaired Qatar's delegation to the meeting. The ministers approved Qatar's membership in the executive office starting from the current session and for two years.
The meeting also reviewed Qatar's notes on a number of laws placed on the meeting's schedule. One of them was a draft for updating the Arab Agreement for counter-terrorism and its strategy. The other was the Arab agreement on anti-money laundering and terrorism finance. The council praised Qatar's efforts in counter-terrorism and anti-money laundering, evident in its signing of all Arab agreements in the field and its cooperation regionally and internationally in counter-terrorism efforts.
The meeting was preceded by another meeting between the GCC ministers, attended by the Minister of Justice, to coordinate their positions and review the schedule of the Arab Justice Ministers Council meeting. They also reviewed decisions relating to GCC legislative integration.
