SINGAPORE: Qatar’s Tasweeq is looking to sell 26,000 tonnes of Oryx gas-to-liquid (GTL) naphtha for December 12-13 loading, but this comes at a time where premiums are under pressure because of weaker fundamentals, traders said yesterday.
It was unclear when was the last time Tasweeq had sold a GTL naphtha spot cargo although Reuters’ data shows it had made an offer for a September cargo. Tasweeq however regularly sells plant condensate grade naphtha and full-range naphtha.
Qatar has another GTL plant at Pearl. The country’s government gave Tasweeq the right to sell around 1 million tonnes per year of GTL naphtha from Oryx and Pearl, raising Tasweeq’s total naphtha sales volumes to 7.5 million tonnes per year. It has a GTL naphtha term tender with Reliance for August-October cargoes. Reuters
