DOHA: The Ministry of Labour convened a consultative meeting with the CEOs of leading private sector companies and institutions, reinforcing its commitment to strong public-private partnerships.

The session was chaired by Khames Mohammed Al Naimi, Assistant Undersecretary for Manpower Affairs in the Private Sector.

The meeting aimed to foster strategic dialogue and collaboration to enhance Qatar’s work environment and promote the employment of Qatari professionals, in line with the national workforce nationalisation initiative, “Empowering Qatar.” Attendees reviewed existing cooperation frameworks and explored opportunities to expand and strengthen these initiatives.

The discussions focused on the challenges facing private sector employers in recruiting, training, and retaining national talent. Innovative approaches were also considered to enhance sector competitiveness and ensure sustainable growth, in accordance with the objectives of the Private Sector Nationalisation Law. Al Naimi highlighted the importance of a coordinated approach between government and private entities to drive workforce nationalisation. He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to creating sustainable employment opportunities for Qatari citizens across strategic economic sectors. He also stressed the value of actively engaging with private sector partners to incorporate their insights and recommendations on attracting and nurturing national talent.

This meeting forms part of a series of periodic consultative sessions organised by the Ministry with private sector stakeholders. These engagements aim to continuously improve the work environment, increase the participation of Qatari professionals, and build a strong base of skilled personnel capable of driving a more productive and transformative labour market.

The initiative aligns closely with Qatar’s National Development Strategy and the broader objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030, aiming to cultivate an effective and highly productive workforce ready to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving economy.
