DOHA: Four Qatari artists have teamed up with four art students from the UK's Slade School of Fine Art as part of the Qatar UK Artist’s Exchange Residency programme project.
As part of the Qatar UK 2013 Year of Culture, the programme managed by Doha-based Ben Barbour will be hosted at Katara Cultural Village. It will conclude November 16.
The Qatari artists taking part are: Shaymaa Alyafey, Ameera Al Aji, Ahmed Nooh and Ali Al Mullah.
The artists have honed their skills at Katara Cultural Village's artistic residency and educational programmes under the supervision of Sa'id Costa, Curator of Visual Arts Exhibitions and Educational Programs at Katara Cultural Village.
The UK students include Hannah Shin, Jennifer Martin, Robert Crosse and Zoe Schoenherr from the Slade School of Fine Art.
The UK art students will be paired with their Qatari peers to create art together over the coming month, which will be on display at Katara Cultural Village later in the year.
