DOHA: The third round of Losail MX Championship will take place tomorrow at the Losail Motocross Track, this was announced by Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) yesterday.
There are two different motorbike categories in this week’s programme: MX1 (from 175CC to 250CC 2-stroke and from 290cc to 450cc 4-stroke) and MX2 (from 100cc to 125cc 2-stroke and from 175cc to 250cc 4-stroke).
The first round took place in mid-February and the second round was the support race of the FIM MX1/MX2 Motocross World Championship on March 1 and 2.
After the two rounds, the leader of the MX1 is the American rider Dennis Stapleton, who has won all the races. he has a tally of 100 points.
The second and third positions are occupied by Kuwaiti riders, Moaath Al Ansari and Mishary Abou Shaibah with 77 and 74 points respectively.
In the MX2 category, Hassan Ahmed from Bahrain is leading with 85 points. In second place is Abdullah Al Shatti from Kuwait with only 3-point difference (82 points). In third place is Barak Al Jasmi also from Kuwait with 75 points.
The Losail MX track is located next to the Losail International Circuit and the event is open to all the public, QMMF said..
Today, the registration for the riders at QMMF office starts at Salwa Road from 2:00pm to 6:00pm. Administration and Scrutineering will be tomorrow at the Losail MX track from 7:30 to 9:00. The track activity will start at 9:55 with a free practice of 25 minutes followed by the qualifying practice at 10:45. After a break, the races will follow: Race 1 at 12:30pm and Race 2 at 2:00pm.
