Riyadh: The 32nd Ministerial meeting of the GCC Petroleum Cooperation Committee has considered steps taken to standardise the prices of petroleum products in GCC countries.
During the meeting attended by Qatar’s Minister of Energy and Industry H E Dr Mohamed bin Saleh Al Sada and the GCC ministers of energy, the GCC Petroleum Cooperation Committee also discussed the draft regulations of the common law of GCC mining, as well as a report on the energy group meetings of the GCC countries and the results of their meetings with economic partners of other countries and economic groups.
The meeting was held under Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, the Bahraini Minister of Finance, the Minister Supervising Oil and Gas Affairs, Chairman of Board of Directors of the National Commission for Oil and Gas, who addressed the meeting, expressing thanks to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for generous hospitality and warm reception, congratulating the Kingdom on the 83rd anniversary of its National Day and wishing it further progress and prosperity.
They considered a report on the energy group meetings of the GCC countries and the results of their meetings with economic partners of other countries and economic groups.
Delegates also discussed a report on the follow-up of meetings of the development of the United Nations Framework Convention for Climate Change and the Kyoto Protocol, and the updated strategic petroleum Summary of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and look at the recommendations of the first petroleum Media Forum of the GCC.
Other topics taken up include reports from the Cooperation Council for Energy Affairs in the World Trade Organisation and free-trade agreements, in addition to a review of the steps that have been taken on the preparation of a study looking at the possibility of unifying prices of petroleum products in GCC countries.
