Hong Kong: Hong Kong stocks built on recent gains to rise for a third straight trading day Thursday as investors returned to work after a typhoon hit the city.
The Hang Seng Index rose 0.43 percent, or 116.93 points, to close at 27,518.60.
But the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index declined 0.49 percent, or 16.19 points, to 3,271.51. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, lost 0.61 percent, or 11.52 points, to 1,890.48.
