Hong Kong: Shares rose in Hong Kong for a third straight session Thursday with investors brushing off a Wall Street retreat as they returned to work the day after a deadly typhoon hit the city and cancelled trading.

The Hang Seng Index added 0.61 percent, or 166.06 points, to 27,567.73 by the break.
