UPDATE: According to reports it has been some smoke inside the elevator. No official comments are available yet. A call to the hotel showed that the hotel is fully operational and staff members are back at work in full swing.
A smal fire was reported at the Wyndham Grand Regency, a five-star hotel, near the Sport Roundabout in the Al Sad area, in the afternoon.
According to the initial report on social media no one was hurt. The Saudi and Oman football team were staying in the hotel during the incident.
Some Oman media organisations tweeted that their team was staying in the hotel and no one was injured. An Omani player could be seen in the photograph.
