Khartoum: Tijani Sese, Chairman of Darfur Regional Authority (DRA), said Qatar has fulfilled its promises in the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur in terms of achieving security and stability in the region.
Sese said that Qatar has provided the world with a new model of how to manage the peace process on the ground and achieve its goals through development and construction programmes, eradicating the negative effects of war, bringing about peaceful coexistence and transforming Darfur’s society from war into stability.
In an interview with Sudanese radio, Sese said the document was comprehensive and ended the conflict in a modern and scientific way that gained regional and global wide support.
“We highly regard what Qatar’s leadership, government and people have offered to Sudan in terms of constant support that showed the extent of their appreciation for us,” Sese said.
He highlighted the projects implemented in Darfur, thanks to the peace process, and said statistics shows Darfur received attention in terms of development and the post-DRA is an inclusive phase in which all sides take part.
