Doha: International Bank of Qatar (ibq) yesterday launched the country’s most comprehensive and rewarding loyalty programme, ‘thanq’, which underpins the bank’s long-standing track record of innovation and customer focus.
Thanq is an innovative rewards program that offers customers the opportunity to accumulate reward points across a wide range of banking products and services which customers can redeem, online with over 800 airlines, 160,000 hotels and car rental services worldwide without restrictions or black-out dates and inclusive of all taxes.
This is complementary to any airline or hotel rewards program customers may already be a member of which means that they will accumulate points on their existing memberships as well.
Thanq goes further than any other rewards program in Qatar in that customers earn points not just by using their ibq credit card, but also by maintaining a monthly current account balance, taking a new loan, referring a friend to the bank and through many other ibq products and services.

Thanq members will have access to the unique thanq rewards website, a dedicated online platform, which helps members manage their thanq reward points with ease. For example customers have a unique online feature which enables them to share points with family and friends.
The rewards website allows customers the option of making partial points payments towards travel bookings.
This means that customers can choose to pay any combination of points or cash, giving them flexibility and choice.
