Doha: Shura Council Member and Chairman of the Qatari-EU Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Shura Council H E Mohammed bin Fahd Al Muslim highlighted Qatars strong and distinguished bilateral relations with the Netherlands, emphasizing their deep ties and cooperation across various fields.
He told QNA that the visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to the Netherlands is a significant step towards upgrading bilateral relations to strategic partnerships that serve mutual interests, in addition to serving as occasions to hold discussions on regional and international issues, given Qatar’s positive and active role in addressing various dossiers.
Al Muslim said that Qatar’s ties with the Netherlands are built on solid foundations of mutual respect and shared interests, adding that the visit of HH the Amir presents an opportunity for the exchange of ideas and perspectives on numerous issues of mutual concern, along with facilitating the advancement of bilateral cooperation across several domains, benefiting Qatar and the Netherlands alike. He praised the parliamentary cooperation between Qatar and the Netherlands, looking forward to strengthening and developing this cooperation to broader horizons, based on this visit “which will undoubtedly contribute to strengthening parliamentary cooperation, and enhancing understanding on many files and topics of common interest.”
Similar to the previous visits of HH the Amir to a number of European countries which culminated in the signing of various agreements, Al Muslim expected this visit to follow suit and enhance cooperation, namely in the fields of commerce, trade, investment, culture, and education, among others. He said that the visit comes at an important time when both countries are seeking to enhance cooperation in facing common global challenges such as climate change, food security, and renewable energy, in service of their mutual sustainable development.
