Celebrations to mark 101 Bihar Divas, titled ‘Ek sham Bihar ke naam’, were organised by Bihar Foundation, Chapter Qatar and World Bihar Organisation, Qatar, at the Copthorne Hotel Doha recently.
Shakil Ahmed Kakvi, Chairman, Bihar Foundation and President, World Bihar Organisation, Qatar said: “I came out from Bihar, but Bihar never came out from my mind and heart. The best tribute of the Bihar Divas celebration is to adopt our own village for development. Support in developing schools, health centres and drinking water facilities in Bihar to make a well-developed Bihar. Don’t ask what Bihar can do for you, ask what you can do for Bihar.”
Dr Atif Iqbal spoke on Renewable Energy-Bihar Status, Dr Rizwan Ahmed explained the literature and culture of Bihar, Dr Sajid Atique’s topic was medical health facilities, and Anwar Karim did a presentation on Road to Bihar’s Prosperity.
The governing body of World Bihar Organisation, comprising Gauhar Altaf, vice president; Mahfuz Hassan, treasurer; Sabihul Haque, secretary, event; Md Nadeem Mallick, secretary, culture; Zia Fatah, secretary, language; Mansoor Alam, secretary, communication, and Randhir Kumar Singh, secretary, education, presented memento to the guest of Bihar Divas while Sarfaraz Hussain expressed gratitude to the speakers at the seminar on Vision Bihar 2020 .
The magazine Parwaaz was released during the event.
World Bihar Organisation, Qatar declared the winners of various awards. The Excellence Award in Society Reformation went to Abyanandy, DGP Bihar; the Excellence Award for Humanitarian Support went to Dr Bindeshwer Pathak, founder of Sulabh International; and the Excellence Award in Education went to Ashfaque Karim, founder, Katihar Medical College.
A cultural programme, Ek Sham Bihar Ke Naam, with ‘Bihar Geet’ and ‘Bihar Gaurav Gaan’ was presented by members of Kainat Foundation. Nadir Abdul Salam, a budding artist, performed Bhojpuri folk songs.
