Doha: Qatar Stars League (QSL) side Al Arabi will be without two key players, as Gianfranco Zola’s side begins preparations ahead of their round 20 clash against Al Sadd on February 28 at Lekhwiya Stadium.
Defender Adil Lami will be absent for his team after picking up a one match suspension for the two yellow cards he picked up in the 2-0 derby defeat to Al Rayyan on Saturday evening.
Yusef Ahmed will also be absent to face his former side Al Sadd after picking up his fourth yellow card of the season, meaning that the pacey striker is also unavailable for selection.
Al Arabi currently occupy sixth place in the QSL standings, just two points outside of the top 4 places.
Meanwhile, Al Sadd has begun preparations for their round 20 match against Al Arabi.
The Wolves are set to face Al Arabi on Sunday evening at Lekhwiya Stadium, from 7:30pm.
Al Sadd head coach Jesualdo Ferreira oversaw the training session on Monday evening, which included all available players.
The group participated in technical drills, which focused on defending and attacking as a team.
In team news, Al Sadd was boosted by midfielder Talal Al Baloushi continuing his recovery drills, after suffering a knock several weeks ago. The Qatari international midfielder and is expected to recover in time for the match and could be in contention to play against Al Arabi.
