Bangladesh MHM School and College celebrated 49th Victory Day of Bangladesh with great patriotic zeal and much passion with colourful functions organised at the School premises on December 16 paying tribute to the freedom fighters who made the supreme sacrifices in the War for Independence to free the nation in 1971.
On this occasion, the institution holds the different event and activities like raising of National Flag with National anthem, prayer for the freedom fighters and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mojibor Rahman making of Bijoyful and cultural competition among the students.
Ambassador of Bangladesh, Ashud Ahmed, and the Chairman of the School hoisted national flag followed by the rendering national anthem. On this special occasion distinguished embassy officials, respected Governing bodies, respected Director, Principal, Vice-Principal, together with all faculty members and students were present.
Addressing the event, Director Lieutenant Commander Anwar Khurshid welcomed the guests and focused on the importance of the independence in any nation’s life.
He remembered with gratitude the greatest leader of Bangladesh, Father of the Nation Bangabandu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman who led our War of Liberation.
In his speech Ambassador of Bangladesh, Ashud Ahmed highlighted the importance of knowing the glorious history of our country. He advised the students to study regularly that will show their love to their nation.
He told that Bangladeshis are a valiant nation which has got her independence through nine month long bloody struggle under the leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1971. He also remembered the sacrifice of the martyrs for whom we have got our independence as well as our own identity.
On this significant day the school arranged a vibrant cultural program with an outstanding performance of respected Lecturer Abu Shama along with poem recitation, songs and other performance highliting the history, tradition of our country.
Students of Elementary School participated in drawing competition while their counterparts of middle school took part in Patriotic Song, Drama competition.
This program also included prize distribution Ceremony in which winners of different events received prizes from the hands of the respected Director, Principal and Vice Principal. After the prize giving ceremony respected Director gave a short speech motivating the students who got prizes and also encouraged who participated in the various events. After the ceremony he conclude the program with joyful manner.
