The Public Works Authority, ‘Ashghal’, will close the existing access routes to the Sidra Medical and Research Centre (Sidra) and Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) from Al Luqta Street, opening an earlier turn exit, right after the Tilted Roundabout.
The minor access change, which has been designed in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, will be implemented on Saturday evening, and be in operation until the end of 2017.
Road users will still be able to access the Sidra Medical and Research Centre and QNCC from Al Luqta Street and will only be required to take the first right turn exit after the Tilted Roundabout, as shown on the attached map.
Ashghal advises that there will be no changes to lane configurations or speed limits on Al Luqta Street or the internal roads within Sidra Medical and Research Centre or QNCC.
The change is the first stage of a three-phase diversion that will be implemented on the Dukhan Highway East project. The diversions are required to enable the construction of a pedestrian tunnel, future roads and the implementation of new utilities systems. Ashghal will provide frequent updates to road users regarding the next two phases of the road changes in the area.
The Public Works Authority requests all road users to abide by the speed limit, and follow newly implemented traffic road signs to ensure their safety.
