Workers and Verdi union members protest over pay and conditions outside the Amazon.de distribution centre in Bad Hersfeld yesterday. German warehouses of online retailer Amazon.com employ a total of 9,000 staff at nine distribution centres, its second-biggest market behind the United States, plus 14,000 seasonal workers.
