DOHA: ExxonMobil Qatar held a four-day training course on fundamental economic analysis concepts for commercial and technical professionals from Qatargas and RasGas.  The course is the latest in a succession of training courses offered under Tamayoz, a training programme designed to share ExxonMobil’s technical, commercial and operational expertise with Qatar’s workforce.

The course was delivered to career professionals in commercial, engineering and geoscience functions with the course content focusing on economic modeling, incremental economics, integrated value chain opportunities, risk and uncertainty and economic analysis tools.

“We launched Tamayoz to share ExxonMobil’s knowledge in the energy sector with our partners in Qatar, and have been working diligently with them to develop training courses that are stimulating and build human capacity,” said Jos Evens, Vice President Marketing for ExxonMobil Qatar Inc.  “This course highlights the fundamental role of economic analysis in decision-making and risk management within today’s economies and respective sectors – particularly the energy sector.  We are very pleased to have received excellent feedback from participants, and will continue to work with our experts and partners to create additional courses to support Qatar’s growing workforce.”

Local and international ExxonMobil trainers shared knowledge with the participants on assessing capital investments from multiple viewpoints using various methods and tools for economic analysis.  A competitive scenario-based game and problem-solving activities were introduced to ensure the trainees received hands-on experience using applicable situations.
