Doha: A temporary traffic diversion will be implemented on the Civil Defence Roundabout, starting from Tuesday morning, August 23, 2016, until Friday, August 26, 2016.
The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) announced that the diversion will be implemented as follows:
For drivers coming from Khalifa Intersection: the left lane leading to Al Bidaa Intersection will be closed, while the right lane leading to the Medical City Intersection (towards Bin Omran) and the middle lane leading to Onaiza Street will remain open to traffic.
For drivers coming from Onaiza Street: the left lane leading to the Medical City Intersection will be closed, while the right lane leading to Al Bidaa Intersection and the middle lane leading to Khalifa Intersection will remain open to traffic.
Drivers coming from the Medical City Intersection can only turn right into Onaiza Street, and drivers coming from Al Bidaa Intersection can only turn right into Khalifa Intersection, as shown on the attached map
The temporary diversion aims at completing the works to convert the Civil Defence Roundabout into a signalised intersection, which are part of the fifth phase of the Development of Intersection and Roundabouts project in several areas in the Municipality of greater Doha. The project aims to enhance the traffic flow and reduce the congestion in major areas.
