Doha, Qatar: The Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has highlighted the importance of adopting smart energy consumption habits in buildings to improve efficiency, reduce waste and support the country’s sustainability goals.
The utility said improving the efficiency of energy use begins with simple everyday practices that can make a significant difference in electricity consumption. These include setting air conditioners at appropriate temperatures, using energy-efficient lighting and switching off unnecessary electrical appliances when they are not in use.
According to Kahramaa, these practical measures not only help lower electricity consumption but also reduce monthly utility bills for consumers. They also contribute to minimising the waste of valuable resources while promoting the sustainable use of energy across homes, offices and commercial buildings.
The corporation stressed that responsible energy consumption is a shared responsibility and an essential step toward preserving natural resources for future generations. In addition to its conservation initiatives, Kahramaa emphasised that its 991 Contact Center operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing prompt and reliable services to subscribers. The center responds to customer inquiries, receives emergency reports and offers technical support with efficiency and professionalism.
