BPS collaborates with AKIS for SDGs

Doha: Birla Public School (BPS) under its project ‘Think Globally, Work Locally’ collaborated with Al Khor International School(AKIS) (CBSE), Al Khor for creating awareness about Sustainable Development Goals - 2030 of United Nations Organization. Birla Public School is one of the few schools in the world and pioneer in the Gulf to collaborate with United Nations Organizations for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). A team of students and teachers visited AKIS to present SDGs awareness program on April 15.

Students gave a power point presentation to introduce Sustainable Goals 2030 and appealed the audience to contribute for the global cause. A mesmerising dance and a song performance to create lasting impression on the young minds was presented and got standing ovation.

Bhavna V S, Vice-Principal, CBQED, BPS while addressing the students requested them to be the instrument of change. As they are the forth coming citizens of the world the young children should have sense of responsibility and belongingness to the globe. She also insisted that all the young children across various schools should come together and pledge to save the environment.

Rushali Nair student of grade IX compared the program and Nora Jacob of grade VII proposed vote of thanks. Priya Sadasivam, Head of Senior School of AKIS CBSE, extended great support from day one for this collaborative project and appreciated the BPS students for their outstanding performance and sense of responsibility to the global cause.

Marshal D’Silva, Sreelakshmy Sujith, Betty Leone, Litty Jacob, Sanchita Banerji and Anam Shariq from Art, Music, Dance, IT and Social Science department of BPS worked hard to make this program a success.
