Primary Health Care Corporation launches early detection cancer events

Doha: The Primary Health Care Corporation in collaboration with the Al-Hiba Group headed by Sheikha Leena Bint Nasser Bin Khaled Al-Thani, Ambassador of the 'Screen for Life' Breast Cancer awareness program, organized an educational lecture on the awareness of early detection of breast and bowel cancer as part of the organization's continued efforts to raise awareness of the disease.
The lecture, which was attended by 75 women at the headquarters of the Al-Hiba Group under the umbrella of 
Nasser Bin Khaled al-Thani Charitable Foundation comes within a series of lectures carried out by the Primary Health Care Corporation to raise awareness of early detection and provide an open forum to discuss the importance of breast screening for women grouped as 45 years old and above, and bowel cancer screening for women aged 50 years or above.
It also aims at discussing the risks, symptoms and preventive measures that can be taken in this regard.
Sheikha Leena Bint Nasser Bin Khaled Al-Thani in a welcoming speech thanked the Primary Health Care Corporation for appointing her as Ambassador of the 'Screen for Life' Breast Cancer awareness program launched in January, adding that, in line with Al-Hiba Group 's message aimed at supporting humanitarian issues within the health sector , the organization will spare no effort to work with patients, doctors and social workers to encourage preventive and curative health services in the State of Qatar.
For her part, Dr. Sheikha Abu Sheikha, Director of Cancer Screening Program said that the main objective of the program is to educate specific groups of women within the framework of the organization's efforts to raise awareness of the importance of screening for breast and bowel cancer, noting that the reaction and response of a limited number of participants is a positive and encouraging factor. 
She praised the cooperation with Al Hiba Group dedicated to humanitarian causes and treatment of incurable diseases, regardless of the nationality of the patient or his beliefs, noting that the group has made notable achievements in the health field both inside and outside Qatar.
