Doha: Al Hazm Intersection on the Al Khafji Street was opened to traffic on Saturday, February 20, after being converted from a roundabout to a signal-controlled intersection. The sidewalk and pavement works are still in progress.
Opening of Al Khafji Intersection comes as part of the works on Al Khafji Street Development Project. The project included converting Al Hazm Roundabout to a signal-controlled intersection and the expansion of Al Khafji Street from three to four lanes starting from Al Hazm Intersection for 300 metres towards Al Jamiaa Intersection, and from Al Hazm Intersection to connect it with Jelaiha Intersection (first stage) to become four lanes instead of three.
Al Khafji Street Development project is part of a series of vital projects implemented by Ashghal to improve and enhance the network of local roads and expressways, and enhance the traffic safety across the country.
