A seminar on test prep and college admission process was organised by Scoreplus Qatar at Wyandam Grand Regency Hotel recently.
Micheal Gamerl, Asst Vice President, The Princeton Review USA, and an expert in college admission, shared his expertise with the student advisors from various schools.
While addressing the representatives, Gamerl unveiled the strategies of college admission process by providing step-by-step information on how to make college application stand out and avoid mistakes that can weaken a student’s chance of admission.
Underscoring the strategic approach to choosing standardised tests (PSAT, SAT, ACT, SAT Subject Tests), Gamerl mentioned that ACT test takers have outnumbered SAT test takers in USA in recent years. Highlighting the difference, he said “ACT asks more straightforward questions, has science section and tests more advanced math concepts while the SAT has a stronger emphasis on vocabulary and is broken up into many smaller sections. Although Colleges will accept either the SAT or ACT scores, admissions officers care about how you did on each section of the SAT while on the ACT, they’re most concerned with your composite score, added Gamerl.
Also present at the seminar were Ritu Kalwani, Co-founder and Executive Director of Score Plus, the regional representative of the Princeton Review and Pradeep Singhal, country Director Scoreplus Qatar.
Singhal, highlighting the company’s commitment to serve with the finest education solutions, said “we realize the extensiveness of students’ potential and help them turn their aspirations from dreams into reality by offering exciting learning programs.” He also announced the opportunity of taking a PRA at Scoreplus Qatar office completely free of cost.
As part of the extended Event Gamerl also met the student gatherings at International School of London, ISL Qatar, and Micheal DeBakey High school, Qatar.
