Renault has launched the all-new Renault Twizy at the opening day of the 2014 Qatar Motor Show. The Renault Twizy is powered entirely by electricity.
The Renault Twizy has an urban cycle range of approximately 85km. The batteries are charged via an extendible cable located behind the Renault diamond at the front of the car. A full charge takes around 3 hours using the normal household 220-240v domestic supply (3-pin plug). The lithium-ion batteries which power the electric motor are mounted beneath the seats to lower the center of gravity.
Peyman Karager, Renault Middle East Director said of the vehicle: “With the Renault Twizy, Renault plays the difference by being the only manufacturer in the Middle East to market a 100 percent electric vehicle. The Renault Twizy is a car of character with an amazingly modern design, fun to drive, safe and silent.”

Pre-booking for the Renault Twizy will start in Qatar from March 1 at Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana Co. Renault Twizy’s price starts from QR77,900 and will have a 2 year warranty.

Toyota showcases SUV and sedan range at QMS
Toyota displays a variety of vehicles from its best-selling SUV and sedan range at the Qatar Motor Show (QMS).
Toyota Middle East and Abdullah Abdelghani Bro have showcased a variety of vehicles From their best selling SUV and sedan range including the latest versions of Prado, Land Cruiser, sequoia, Rav 4, Corolla, Avalon and 86 at the 2014 Qatar motor Show.
The all-new Toyoto Land Cruiser, which has been on display at the Toyota stand, comes equipped with a multi-terrain select system offering five modes, which allows the vehicle to adapt to various road conditions for an excellent off-road ground covering performance, which also controls wheel spin and wheel lockup.
The all-new Rav 4 comes with a bold new look reflected by its distinctive and sophisticated styling. The Rav 4 has a sporty, strong front design that emphasizes the center pushed forward. The vehicle features a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine which features a Dual VVT-I technology.
The all-new Toyota Corolla has been revamped with a stylish and advanced exterior design, cutting-edge technology and top level fuel efficiency. The interior matches the visual impact of the exterior design and adds a new level of refinement with a passenger cabin that features a clean, horizontally oriented dash panel that adds to the interior’s sense of spaciousness.

Volkswagen has launched the all-new Golf R at the opening day of the 2014 Qatar Motor Show in the presence of Chiristian Klingler, Member of the board of management at Volkswagen AG and WRC champion, Sebastian Ogier.
The New Golf R is the most powerful and dynamic of the Golf series and is set to arrive at Volkswagen dealers across the Middle East by June of this year. The New Golf R is powered by a newly designed 280 HP TSI engine, which is 25 HP stronger while being up to 18 percent more fuel efficiency.
The New Golf R comes with a six speed clutch gearbox, which enables the new compact sports car to complete the classic sprint in 5.0 seconds, and can reach a top speed of 250 km/h. The new vehicle also transfers its turbocharged engine power to the road via a permanent all-wheel drive system.

Audi displays the all new Audi A8 and Audi nanuk Quattro concept at the Qatar motor Show. Audi Middle East has showcased two of its newest releases, the all-new Audi A8 and the Audi nanuk Quattro show car, at the 2014 Qatar Motor show.
The Audi A8 is the largest sedan in its competitive segment. The vehicle is 5.14m long, has a wheelbase of 2.99m, and is 1.95m wide and 1.46m tall. The A8 L gains an additional 13cm in both length and wheelbase. The dynamic design of the all-new Audi A8 is now more expressive. The engine hood, the single frame grille and the front bumper have more pronounced contours and the headlights have become flatter.
The A8 will initially be offered in the Middle East with two gasoline engines — supercharged 50 TSI with 310 hp and the V8 bi-turbo 60 TSI with 435 hp. Output has been increased with most engines; all have seen a reduction in fuel consumption of as much as ten percent. The 60 TSFI accelerates the A8 from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds.
The vehicle is equipped with a fast and smooth-shifting, eight-speed tiptronic. The electronically controlled transmission is paired with Quattro permanent all-wheel drive. The Audi A8 is scheduled to arrive at dealerships in the Middle East in the first quarter of 2014. The vehicle will be available with a starting price of $88,452.
The Audi nanuk Quattro concept show car was developed in collaboration with the designers from Italdesign Giugiaro. The vehicle’s crossover concept combines the dynamics of a mid-engine sports car with the versatility of a sporty recreational vehicle.
The two-seater is powered by a newly developed V10 TDI installed longitudinally in front of the rear axle. The powerful 5.0-litre diesel engine producers over 544 hp and delivers 1, 000 Nm. Its twin turbo register charging unit is controlled via the Audi valve lift system (AVS). The vehicle sprints from 0 to 100km/h in 3.8 seconds, and the top speed in 305 km/h. Another technological highlight of the show car is the integral steering, which resolves the classic conflict between dynamic handling and stability.
The Audi nanuk quarto concept has a wheelbase of 2,710mm. It is 4,541mm long, 1,990mm wide and 1,337mm tall. The load-bearing body structure of the vehicle is of a lightweight, aluminum Audi Space Frame (ASF).

Ford Middle East and Alamana Motors have launched the 2014 Ford Fusion at the opening day of the Qatar Motor Show. The all-new Ford Fusion promises to redefine expectations from vehicles in its category, according to Paul Anderson, Marketing director of Ford Middle East: “The New Ford Fusion truly embodies what One Ford stands for. Ford Fusion is a game changer on all fronts thanks to its rich array of unexpected feature and segment-first or even segment-exclusive technologies that truly make it stand out from the rest.”
The new Fusion enables the driver to maintain proper lane position, adjust vehicle speed to changing traffic conditions and identify suitable parking spaces.
The Fusion offers variable technologies, like the Lane Keeping system, which consists of three elements that help the driver, maintain proper lane condition using a small, forward-facing camera behind the rearview mirror. It also includes an adaptive cruise control technology, which by using a forward looking radar can look down the road when activated, slowing the fusion when slower traffic is detected ahead.
The Ford Fusion includes the Active park assist technology, which by employing sensors can identify a suitable parallel parking space, and the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), which by using sensors in both rear quarter-panels can detect traffic in the driver’s blind spot, while providing both audible and visual warnings if traffic unseen by the driver is detected.
