College of the North Atlantic-Qatar (CNA-Q) and Northumbria University Newcastle have signed a progression agreement allowing graduates of CNA-Q to earn baccalaureate degrees in Qatar and the UK. The agreement includes degree pathways for graduates of the College’s four academic schools, paving the way to 40 different degree programs.
All of the College’s School of Business Studies programs have a pathway to a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours). At the Northumbria campus in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK students will be able to specialize in areas such as: Accounting and Finance, Business Management, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Tourism Management, and Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
For Business students who prefer to stay close to home, the university has partnered with Qatar Finance and Business Academy (QFBA) to offer specialisations in Accounting, Finance & Investment Management, International Banking & Finance here in Doha.
Similarly, all four of CNA-Q’s Information Technology programs now facilitate progression for graduates towards a multitude of options such as Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Networks and Cyber Security (Honours), Computer and Digital Forensics (Honours), Applied Computing (Honours), or Computer Science (Honours) with specializations in Web Development, Artificial Intelligence, Games Development, and IT Management for Business.
Most of the College’s Engineering Technician and Technology diplomas will lead to a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in the disciplines of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Electronic Design Engineering, Mechanical Design Engineering or Mobile Communications Engineering. Further, CNA-Q Environmental Health diploma graduates can complete a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science (Honours) with this new agreement.
“This Progression Agreement creates lifelong learning pathways for CNA-Q students as well as provides the means for career mobility.
We know the aspirations of CNA-Q students are limitless and that many seek to further their education with higher credentials,” said Samah Gamar, CNA-Q Vice-President, Academic.
“Our strong partnership with Northumbria provides our students with more choices to further their education, by expanding on the high-quality technical education gained at CNA-Q. This is a fine example of exceptional collaboration between two post-secondary institutions to prepare students to be well-educated and equipped leaders for the future,” said Gamar. Northumbria is now ranked in the world’s top 500 universities, according to the Times Higher Education 2019 rankings, and it is in the top 250 for research.
