In order to complete the reconstruction of Al Kharaitiyat Interchange on the North Road, the Public Works Authority, ‘Ashghal’, will close the intersection to traffic on December 25 for two months.
The temporary diversion, done in consultation with the General Directorate of Traffic, will involve the entire intersection entrances and exits besides Wadi Al Salamya Street in the west and part of Al Ebb Street in the east.
The detour will facilitate the revamp of Al Kharaitiyat Interchange, as part of North Road Corridor Enhancement project. During the road change, motorists can access the surrounding neighbourhoods and Al Shamal Road and vice versa via the local approaches as well as three other major nearby junctions — Izghawa Interchange, Al Kheesa Interchange and Umm Slal Mohammed Interchange, without any change to traffic flow on the main North Road.
