The State Cabinet yesterday approved a draft resolution to establish a committee to coordinate search and rescue operations in civil aviation.
The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani chaired the Cabinet's ordinary meeting, held at the Emiri Diwan yesterday. Under the resolution, the committee will be established at the General Authority of Civil Aviation, and be chaired by the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, with representatives from the authorities concerned as members.
The committee will be specialized in a number of areas, including the study of ways to remove comments that have been monitored by the inspection team of the International Civil Aviation Organization team in accordance with the international standard rules and national regulations.
The Cabinet also approved the projects and decisions of the Minister of Municipal and Environment on the adoption of Gulf standard specifications as the Qatari standard specification as well as the adoption of Gulf Technical regulations as the Qatari Technical regulations. The Cabinet also reviewed several other topics and took decisions: including a draft law on the protection of the Arabic language.
