As part of a project to develop the local roads in Old Airport area, the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) is partially closing Al Hurriya and Al Salah Streets starting tomorrow until end of May 2017.
The closure on Al Hurriya Street will extend from Al Mansour and Al Hurriya streets intersection to Jabir Bin Hayyan Street. While the closure on Al Salah Street will extend from in front of Hassan Bin Thabet School to Old Airport Commercial Street.
The closure aims to develop the main roads for Al Salah and Al Hurriya Streets, including upgrading of the main foul sewer system with house connections, fixing new surface water and ground water line with gullies for water collection, as well as installing street lights and kerbstone with interlock for the footpath. The project also includes construction of parking bays and roundabouts, in addition to installation of telecommunications and Kahramaa services.
During the closure, one direction will remain open to traffic as shown in the attached map.
Ashghal will install road signs to advise motorists of the closure. The authority requests all road users to abide by the speed limits, and follow the road signs to ensure their and others safety.
