He was appointed Minister of Transport on June 26, 2013. He was deputy president of the International Transport Association. He was also a member of the board of directors of Qatar National Bank. He started his career as an officer in the Qatari armed forces. He graduated from Mechanical Engineering College, France and completed Master’s in Military Science from France. He also holds a Diploma of the Institute of Administrative Development.
