Team Immense, from Doha British School in Qatar, is one of the teams which has progressed through to the ‘F1 in Schools World Finals’ which takes place in Austin, Texas, the US, during the Formula 1 Texas Grand Prix weekend this November.
This will be the first time that Qatar has had a team in the ‘F1 in Schools World Finals’. National teams from over 40 countries will be competing for the Bernie Ecclestone World Champions Trophy and 15 award categories.
The object of the global competition is to design and race a model F1 car using CAD.  The teams have to not only win their race against other competitors but have to market their team, design a team uniform and make a presentation of their final car to a panel of judges.
“Team Immense is appealing to all businesses in Qatar to lend their support to the DBS team. Part of the educational aspect of the World Finals is that the team must run the project as a business and gain sponsorship to make it possible for them to participate in the world finals in Austin, Texas,” team manager Ana Unnikrishnan said in a press release.
