DOHA: The Public Guards Department at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has withdrawn the licence of a private security company due to repeated violations, said Brigadier Ahmed Jassim Al Jufairi, Director of Public Guards Department.
The said company was referred to courts who approved of the decision of the MoI, said Brig Al Jufairi.
Some of the security company’s staff would not cooperate with police officers during the conduct of investigations and sometimes would hinder their work for not divulging vital information citing company’s privacy as a reason, he said.
He added the law stipulates staff of security companies to comply and cooperate with the police and help them when needed during investigations.
The Public Guards Department has called on all private security companies in Qatar through a guide book they have published to train their staff and ensure they are qualified as security guards.
Licence of any security company who fails to give sufficient training to their staff will not be renewed, he warned.
