DOHA: With massive infrastructure projects in Qatar and the increasing influx of foreign workers, the Ministry of Public Health is conducting national surveys and studies to learn about the development of public health in the country, an official said yesterday.
Sheikha Dr. Al Anoud Bint Mohamed Al Thani, Director, Health Protection and Non-communicable Diseases at the ministry was speaking to a delegation from the US Florida International University (FIU) that visited the ministry yesterday. The delegation comprised 40 students in the Master of Healthcare Administration.
The students visited major departments of the ministry and were briefed on its vision, mission and functions of its departments.
Dr Saleh bin Ali Al Marri welcomed the delegation and praised FIU as one of the most important US universities recognised as a scientific edifice. He hoped that the visit would contribute to further enhancing cooperation between the two sides, pointing out that the ministry is keen to establish partnerships with international bodies, institutions and universities to take advantage of all experiences in health sector.
