Qatar stock index rises 90 points

DOHA: Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index gained 90.07 points, or 0.75 percent, when it closed trading at 12,121.22 points Monday compared to 12,031.15 points on Sunday.

The market capitalization increased to QR 641.01bn compared to QR638.35bn registered Sunday.

The traded valued increased to QR528.94m with a volume of 11,544,199 shares from 5,0562 transactions compared with QR198.36m with a volume of 6,630,655 shares from 2,925 transactions on Sunday.

Real estate index continued its gains for the second day, up1.87 percent from Sunday's 3.84 percent (2,792.14 points) to 2,844.23 points.

Industries index gained 0.69 percent (3,913.1 points) while banks and finance companies index was up 0.30 percent to 3,145.73 points.

Transport, insurance and telecom indices dropped slightly today.

QSE Total Return Index gained 0.75 percent (18,837.01 points), QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index gained 0.94 percent (4,720.55 points), QSE All Share Index gained 0.55 percent (3,233.04 points).

 From the 43 companies listed on QSE, shares of 41 saw trading today. From these 23 advanced, 15 declined and three remained unchanged.
