Doha: Qatar Chamber discussed bilateral cooperation in the economic and trade sectors, the investment climate, available opportunities, and the role of the private sector in boosting trade and investment exchanges with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This came during the meeting of Second Vice-Chairman of Qatar Chamber Rashid bin Hamad Al Athba with Prime Minister of Tuzla Canton in Bosnia and Herzegovina HE Irfan Halilagic.
Al Athba praised the cordial relations between the two countries, highlighting the importance of enhancing cooperation in commercial and investment fields to promote trade exchange, which reached around QR 73 million last year, a figure that does not reflect the true potential and ambitions of both sides.
He pointed out that about nine Bosnian companies are investing in the Qatari market in partnership with Qatari firms across various sectors. He also emphasized that Qatar's market is open and welcomes Bosnian companies interested in investing.
For his part, HE Prime Minister of Tuzla Canton in Bosnia and Herzegovina Irfan Halilagic praised the strong ties between the two countries and noted the shared desire to strengthen these relations across various fields, especially in trade and investment.
Halilagic called on representatives of the private sectors in both countries to broaden the scope of cooperation and establish joint projects that would lead to increased trade exchange.
On the other hand, Second Vice-Chairman of Qatar Chamber Rashid bin Hamad Al Athba met with Duke of Richmond - UK HE Charles Gordon-Lennox.
The meeting discussed avenues of commercial and economic cooperation between the State of Qatar and the United Kingdom, as well as the role of the private sectors in both countries in enhancing mutual investments.
Al Athba praised the strong relations between Qatar and the United Kingdom, noting that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries reached approximately QR 7.5 billion last year, including QR 1.2 billion in Qatari exports to the UK, mostly consisting of petroleum gases and gaseous hydrocarbons.
