Doha: QF Radio, the in-house broadcasting station for Qatar Foundation (QF), celebrated the completion of the 2015-2016 season of programming with an appreciation ceremony that marked the accomplishments of its students and staff.
The event at Education City held particular significance for QF Radio, which this year collaborated with a record number of students, QF centres and organisations to bring diverse and exciting programmes to the local community.
As a defining factor of this year’s shows, QF Radio acknowledged the contribution of youth to shaping Qatar’s future development and growth by producing programmes which have helped address the Grand Challenges facing Qatar. “The station is determined to attract as many Qatari youth as possible,” said Mohammed Al Beshri, Media Centre Manager. “Our in-house training courses have provided young men and women with the fundamental knowledge and experience needed to work in real-world media environments. QF Radio has integrated Qatar’s next generation into the station’s team through education and experience. By sharing knowledge in broadcast journalism and production, we have introduced young people to skills to produce and present their radio shows,” he continued. Over 30 students, faculty and staff were celebrated for their commitment to deliver quality programmes in the fields of science and technology, health, medicine, design, travel and culture. These reflect QF’s vision to support human, social and economic development in Qatar.
