• People complained that employees manning receptions at some ministries and departments are continuously busy with their BlackBerry and smartphones and don’t give attention to visitors. Some urged the ministries and departments to improve skills of their reception staff and train them on how to deal with visitors.
• There were talks about the decision of the Ministry of Social Affairs to provide financial support to disabled people above 18 years.
• There were discussions about the approval of the Health and Education Fund law by the Advisory Council. The fund will grant sustainable aid in both sectors.
• There were complaints against some companies renting buildings and letting them out to bachelor workers, beside families, as sub-tenants. People said the practice violated the privacy of families.
• A number of visitors to Al Wakra branch of the Ministry of Labour complained about the shortage of parking spaces and said it was forcing visitors to park their cars far from the offices and walk in the hot weather.
• Some people demanded that authorities simplify the application process for health card so that applicants won’t have to go to Hamad Hospital to complete further formalities, especially people living in far-flung areas.
• There were talks about the Ministry of Labour’s summer training programme for young students. The programme will include practical training for students in government departments and private companies. Young participants will also receive incentives at the end of training.
