QSE-listed companies’ profits up 10.27 percent to QR49.483bn

Doha: Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) issued data showing an increase of 10.27 percent in the net profits of companies listed on the stock exchange in 2022, reaching QR49.483bn compared to QR44.871bn in 2021.

The data attributed the increase in profits to a rise in the profits of the banking and financial services sector by 7.91 percent in 2022, standing at QR26.445bn compared to QR24.507bn in 2021. The industrial sector’s profits also increased by 9.71 percent to reach QR14.759bn compared to QR13.485bn in 2021.

The telecom sector companies’ profits came in third place, with a net profit of QR2.8bn in 2022, compared to QR374m in 2021, whereas the transportation sector companies ranked fourth, achieving a net profit of QR2.6bn up from QR2.3bn in 2021.

The services and consumer goods sector ranked fifth, with a net profit of QR1.860bn, compared to QR1.880bn in 2021, whilst the real estate sector ranked sixth, with net profits of QR1.6bn compared to QR1.2bn in 2021.
