Doha: The general index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started trading yesterday in the green zone.
It resulted by gaining 69.08 points, an increase of 0.71 percent, to rise to the level of 9874 points, compared to Monday’s closing, with the support of the insurance, bank and financial services sectors.
Data issued by QSE showed an increase in the performance of the insurance sector by 3.93 percent.
It also showed an increase in the bank and financial services sector by 1.65 percent, the communications sector by 0.77 percent.
Having said that, a significant increase was also seen in the real estate sector by 0.59 percent and the consumer goods and services sector by 0.45 percent.
On the other hand, the industrial sector declined by 0.26 percent, and the transport sector declined by 0.23 percent.
At 10:00 am, QSE recorded 2393 transactions worth QR54.933m, distributed to 21.092m shares.
