Global meet on Islamic finance starts tomorrow

DOHA: Over 700 industry experts from nearly 50 countries will discuss the challenges and opportunities related to Shariah compliant banking and finance at the upcoming 10th International Conference on Islamic Economics and Finance to be held here from March 23 to 24.
In a statement yesterday, Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), country’s leading Islamic Bank, announced that it is the main partner of the 10th edition of the event. The conference will be held under the theme “Institutional Aspects of Economic, Monetary, and Financial Reforms”. 
The event is being organised by the Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies (member of the Hamad Bin Khalifa University), Qatar Central Bank, the Islamic Research and Training Institute (a subsidiary of the Islamic Development Bank), and the International Association for Islamic Economics.
The two-day event will include over 39 sessions to discuss 158 researches and papers centred on the main theme of Islamic Finance, including: Instruments of Monetary Policy to Support Liquidity of Islamic Banks, Reforms in Islamic Banking, Islamic Corporate Finance and Capital Markets, Risk Management and Stability of Islamic Financial Services, Economic Analysis of Islamic Banking, Competency in Islamic Banks, Shariah Supervisory Boards and Governance, Small Enterprises and Entrepreneurship, Islamic Sukuk, and other topics.
