Doha: The National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking (NCCHT) held a meeting yesterday with a delegation from the US Secretary of State and US head of Department of Labour, during their visit to the country.
The delegation was briefed on the experience of the Humanitarian Care Home under the umbrella of the Ministry of Labour and about its mechanism of action and the measures taken for protection and prevention, providing assistance to the victims, and working towards their rehabilitation and integration into society.
Humanitarian Care Home officials discussed with the US Department of Labour delegation frameworks for cooperation and strengthening joint relations between the two countries in the field of combating human trafficking issues and measures to protect workers’ rights.
The Humanitarian Care Home, represented by the National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking and operated by the Qatar Red Crescent, aims to provide the required assistance and protection to victims of human trafficking, work on their rehabilitation and integration into society, and provide care and temporary lodge for them until their problems are resolved.
