Saif Al Kuwari, QTA’s Director of PR and Communication, said "Developing new events and festivals is part of QTA’s long term strategy to boost the tourism industry, attract visitors and increase tourism spending. This winter has brought new energy to the sector with the inaugural edition of Shop Qatar, as well as the Souq Waqif Festival and Souq Al Wakrah Festival. These festivals, which are taking place all over the country, provide opportunities for our visitors to truly experience Qatar.”
Simultaneously launched on Thursday, the Spring festivals at Souq Waqif and Souq Al Wakrah has been attracting hundreds of visitors to two of the popular tourist spots in the country for their colourful shows and fun events catered to the entire family.
“These efforts will doubtless reflect on the tourism industry's performance, and we would like to thank all partners in the public and private sectors who are making this possible. We are committed to keeping this momentum going, and to cultivating new tourism products and services, especially through our work with entrepreneurs and SMEs," added Al Kuwari.
Yesterday marked the conclusion of African Circus after a successful two-week run at Hyatt Plaza Mall’s outdoor area. More entertaining shows are in store in the coming days including Hussain AlJassmi’s concert this coming Friday, the Broadway musical Cats from February 1 to 4 and the Doha Comedy Festival from February 2 to 4.
