Qatar Diabetes Association will launch the 17th Al-Bawasil annual camp for children with diabetes from January 28 to February 1 at Aspire Academy.
The organisers said the purpose of the camp is to create a safe and loving environment for children with diabetes, address the emotional and physical pain caused by diabetes, and give them the confidence to reach their full potential.The camp will teach children to inject insulin by themselves and adopt nutritional programmes. There will be programmes to help the children control their blood sugar level which can be practised after the camp as well as how to observe and treat low and high blood sugar.
The association confirmed the attendance of 13 countries at the camp which will be managed by a group of doctors, nurses, nutritionists and other specialists to ensure the best services are offered to participants and provide opportunities for physical and artistic activities through field trips.
