DOHA: General Authority of Customs has destroyed as many as 30762 bottles of liquor seized from Doha Port over a period of time.
The General Authority of Customs destroyed the stock of liquor by bulldozing the bottles in the presence of Chairman Authority. Officials of the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Municipality and Environment were also present at the occasion.
The cache had been seized over a period of time by customs officials at Doha Part as part of its drive against illegal commodities.
The stock was destroyed after completing legal procedures and on taking approval from the courts. The authority has further stated that it would continue its operations against illegal commodities in future.
