Qatargas’ JBOG project crosses 10m man-hours safely

Doha: The Qatargas Jetty Boil-off Gas Recovery (JBOG) Project achieved a major safety milestone of completing ten million man-hours without any lost time injury (LTI), the company announced here yesterday. Qatargas Chief Executive Officer Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Thani said: “Safety is a core value at Qatargas and an integral part of our culture at every level. I commend all those who were involved in this achievement which is a true testament to the commitment and dedication of the project team and the contractors to embrace the strong safety culture spread across our organisation.”
“Our aim is to ensure that everyone goes home safely, every day. We will continue our focus on safety and ensure that all our operations and projects are executed to the highest safety standards, Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa added yesterday. It is worth to mention that around 3,000 people from around the world are working on the project which aims to recover gas currently being flared during Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) ship loading at the Port of Ras Laffan.

QPM to take part in District Cooling meet

 
DOHA: Qatar’s project management company in the field of district cooling —  QPM has announced its participation in the upcoming Fourth Annual Middle East District Cooling Summit, which will take place from November 25 to 27 here at Grand Hyatt Hotel, a release said yesterday. QPM’s involvement in the event is significant, with its Director of Sustainability, Salah Nezar (LEED, APits, QSAS GCP) as co-chairman of the event, will be giving a chief advisory speech. While Fahad Rashid Mohamed Ajlan Al Kaabi, QPM Chief Executive Officer, will be taking part in the executive panel on the first day of the forum.
There will be a range of discussions on current country regulations and opportunities.
